Vindication

Bottles2 We know we’re good. We work really hard to be that way, so we don’t need to be convinced, or reassured, and neither do the people who know and drink our wines…
But it’s always nice to have a little proof, a little vindication. Something to demonstrate and say, “I told you so.”

Plus fronte

92 pts. – Bastianich Tocai Plus 2006
The 2006 Tocai Plus reveals awesome richness in its ripe fruit, honey, flowers, licorice and spices. The late-harvest style gives the wine an extra dimension of sweetness and body I find particularly compelling, yet there is more than enough minerality to give this full-bodied wine lovely overall balance. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016.

Vb fronteNOBOLL

90 pts. – Bastianich Vespa Bianco 2006
The 2006 Vespa Bianco possesses attractive layers of succulent peaches intertwined with smoke, earthiness and French oak. This medium-bodied white exhibits outstanding harmony and tons of style. Vespa Bianco is 45% Chardonnay, 45% Sauvignon and 10% late-harvested Picolit. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016.

Friulano fronte

87 pts. – Bastianich Friulano 2007
The 2007 Friulano is a very pleasant, soft-textured white with pretty varietal notes of ripe peaches, mint and flowers. The wine offers good length, not to mention terrific value. ($15 retail) Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009.

All of the people you see in the pictures of the vendemmia, and of the work in the cantina, the credit goes to them. Pickers, tractor drivers, cellar workers, enologists and consultants. Everyone who puts in so much effort… they get the kudos, and this is the evidence of their hard work.

Thanks, everyone!
